Ángel is the managing partner of L.C. RODRIGO ABOGADOS. Born on November 27, 1957. Graduated in Law from the Universidad Complutense of Madrid in 1985 and member of the Madrid Law Society since then.
Ángel is a seasoned litigator and regularly represents clients in disputes before the Spanish Courts or arbitration tribunals.
He has substantial experience in insurance and reinsurance matters, remarkably in civil liability claims in general and Directors & Officers claims in particular, where he has represented insurers and reinsurers in several high profile cases in Spain. Ángel is also active in consumer law and product liability matters. He is counsel for several insurance and reinsurance companies.
Member of SEAIDA (the Spanish section of the Association Internationale de Droit de Assurances - AIDA -) and of the Club Español de Arbitraje (Spanish Arbitration Club).
Jorge Angell is the senior partner of L.C. Rodrigo Abogados, specialized in Corporate and Commercial law, insurance and reinsurance law, private international law, litigation, and arbitration. He graduated in law in 1971. He is a member of the Madrid (Spain) and Lima (Peru) Law Societies. He has practised in Madrid since January 1974.
He acts frequently as an expert in Spanish law before foreign courts, especially English and US courts, and as arbitrator and party counsel in domestic and international arbitrations, as well as party counsel in mediation procedures. He is listed in the arbitrators' roster of the Arbitration Court of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Madrid, of the Madrid Law Society and of the Arbitration Court of the Chamber of Commerce of Lima. He is a member of the ICC Spanish National Committee, the London Court of International Arbitration and the European-Latin American Arbitration Association (ELArb).

He is also a member of the Professional Liability Underwriting Society (PLUS), SEAIDA (the Spanish section of AIDA); and, also a member of the Credit Insurance Working Party of AIDA, as well as adjunct member of the International Association of Claim Professionals (IACP); member of the Defence Research Institute (DRI), and the Spanish Arbitration Club.
He was nominated in the 2001 Guide to the World's Leading Litigation Lawyers, the 2002, 2004, 2006 and 2015 Expert Guide: Insurance and Reinsurance and the 2006, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 Expert Guide: Commercial Arbitration. He was born on February 17th 1970. Graduated in Law from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid in 1993. LLM from Johann Wolfgang Goethe University, Frankfurt am Main (Germany) in 1995. He also holds a Diploma in International Law from the University of Strasbourg (1992).
Member of the Madrid Law Society since 1996, Miguel specializes in court litigation and arbitration involving commercial matters, civil liability in general and product liability, particularly in the context of Insurance law. Miguel has special expertise in disputes related to industrial assets, such as turbines, aero-generators and industrial machinery, as well as Business Interruption claims arising from such disputes. Among other relevant cases, Miguel has successfully defended the subrogation rights of the insurer for direct recovery despite the existence of a reinsurance agreement (Supreme Court Judgment 706/2014).
He has acted as an expert in Spanish law before foreign courts and the Tribunal Arbitral du Sport in Laussane (Switzerland) and frequently deals with cross-border disputes, including the taking of evidence in foreign jurisdictions. In the context of his litigation and arbitration work, Miguel regularly collaborates with non-Spanish speaking experts.
Miguel is also secretary to the Board of several companies and is actively involved in company matters (particularly, mergers and acquisitions and sale of companies and other assets).
Miguel is author or co-author of several articles on litigation and civil liability issues, cooperates actively in the organization of law seminars and is a frequent lecturer in conferences. He is a member of the International Bar Association (IBA), Insurance and Litigation Committees, of the Legal Practice Division (LPD) of said Association.
Miguel was also member of the Association Internationale des Jeunes Avocats (AIJA), where he was twice awarded with the Past Presidents Award (2003 and 2004) for his contribution to the technical sessions.
Miguel is listed in the 2016 and 2017 Edition of Who’s Who Legal for Insurance and Reinsurance.
